Developing a new program:
Establishing a new degree program requires two types of approval – approval to design the new program and approval to offer the new program. These approvals are done separately and sequentially and require you to follow specific University procedures. For each of these steps, specific University materials are required.
All academic programs at the University of Florida undergo a multi-level review and approval process in order to ensure academic rigor, articulation of goals for program excellence, accessibility and appeal to intended student audiences, and compliance with university and Board of Governors regulations related to academic programs.
Program Directors MUST get approval from the Dean PRIOR to initiating the creation of a new program.
